LFO's Fiber Characterization Service is a comprehensive suite of measurements that are performed on a fiber optic cable link to determine the key performance attributes of that link. Fiber Characterization provides testing to accurately assess a fiber plants health and capabilities which affect current or future applications that operate over the link. LFO's Fiber Characterization Service will enable our clients to have a true representation of their networks' capabilities. Direct results of Fiber Characterization include reduced Time to Market , reduced bit error rates and minimized network downtime which ultimately saves time and money for future network expansion or upgrades. All tests performed by LFO's Fiber Characterization Service will be conducted by a two person certified engineering team, utilizing state-of-the-art test equipment and analysis software. Technicians will be able to provide on-site pass/fail results in order to make recommendations for real time corrective action if required. A single point of contact will be available to assist clients for quoting, project management and report delivery. Test Performed for Fiber Characterization include Optical Return Loss (ORL), OTDR - bi-directionally averaged, Power Meter & Light Source (LTS) - bi-directionally averaged.
